Another little bit of random interesting Opal news that we have come across is the following stories reported on over at AnnArbor.com.
First this story reported about a safe that having been untouched in years, after finding two gold bracelets underneath it, the building owner thought that it would be worth getting it broken into to find what precious items were hidden inside.

If you follow what's going on in the Opal industry it's very possible that you have seen the news about the Backpacker stealing $165,000 worth of Opal and that the trial is currently on hold. If you haven't heard about it, a German backpacker allegedly stole over $165,000 worth of Opals from the Coober Pedy Opal fields.
The trial is currently on hold due to to his Intopol status being investigated due to unlawful activity back in Germany. Let's hope we get to see justice being done as $165,000 is a lot of Opal and the rightful owners of that Opal deserve to see it. Our best wishes are with ...
